Costumes are mandatory, and can be both elaborate and incredibly simple.
You are your own character in a dive bar in a galaxy far, far away.
That could mean aliens or creatures of all species and sorts - smugglers, pilots, gangsters, bounty hunters, criminals, etc.
Think vests, khaki jackets, ponchos, capes, straps, goggles, etc. A lot of looks you'd see in a Western would work. Wasteland gear works. Playa gear is perfect, and so on. A dash of face paint, an alien hair style. Earth-toned desert garb is simple, and a little goes a long way...
Please avoid things that would look out of place in this setting, such as ball caps, printed text, logos, plaid, etc.

“Founded in Detroit in 2015, Space Dive is a fan-built immersive sci-fi environment created by a collective of local artists dedicated to building accessible, large-scale escapist experiences through practical sets, live performance, and collaborative world-building.”
That’s our mission statement, and our reality. But everything costs.
Building sets and props, renting work space, storing all of it for the rest of the year. Paying musicians and performers for our various stages, crew to build and manage the event, actors to populate our world, feeding them all. Marketing. Web hosting. Light bulbs. Extension cords. Gas. Every aspect of this event for the last 10 years has been paid for by ticket sales, but as it grows our expenses grow too.
We have no corporate sponsors, no brand partnerships, no studio backing.
There are no “profits,” no shareholders or investors to appease.
No surplus value. Every dollar we make goes right back into the show. We have gradually raised our ticket prices over the years to cover these costs, but we strive to stay as affordable as possible.
When you shop the Space Dive Black Market, you aren’t just buying event merchandise; you’re supporting this experience directly, and allowing us to keep the lights on, pay our staff a decent wage, and continue providing an unparalleled immersive experience for all.
Thank you. You have helped make this dream a reality for the last 10 years,
and with your continued support, for many years to come.
May the force be with you.
